And the explanation given seems to be that sorry, folders can't be created if you are using POP3, ostensibly because of some design feature of the POP3 protocol. ![]() ![]() But all have the same shortcoming, as far as I can see. The App Store offers a number of other mail clients. But why can't Apple just let me create a couple of folders if I'm using POP3? On the list of folders, tick your new smart folder to keep it on the sidebar. Type the folder name, filter the needed emails and click Create. ![]() Click on the plus icon at the bottom left and choose Smart Folder. Well, OK, someone suggested that I can just move these messages to "sent mail", where the iPhone won't delete them. Click Spark at the top left of your screen. Just simple folders like I have in Outlook, not synched or coordinated with anything else. What I want to do is to create a couple of folders on my iPhone4 where I can save some of my incoming messages so they don't fall off the bottom of my inbox and get deleted. My ISP and mail server doesn't offer IMAP.
